Last week we had a guest speaker, Joe Wagner, from the Brainerd Institute so there is no recording for March 15, 2026.

Today’s sermon audio can be found on Castbox at 155 “Come Now, You Rich” James 5:1-6.

Our primary text for March 22 was James 5:1-6. For our first reading we read Matthew 6:19-24. We examined the evidence that suggests that James addressed this paragraph to unsaved rich people who were unlikely to ever read his letter. We considered the note of judgment for the love of money and the mistreatment of the poor in these verses. We considered the possibility that James posed a question at the end of verse 6: “Does He not oppose you?” instead of making an assertion. We did so because James had previously used this same verb, to oppose, in 4:6. We looked at why James would address this paragraph to unsaved rich people who wouldn’t read his letter. We considered various applications to ourselves though we are not the rich and we are not unsaved.
